Trans-Nzoia Governor George Natembeya quits DAP-K Party

Speaking during an interview on a local radio station on Wednesday, July 8, Natembeya said his decision followed disagreement with his party leader, Eugene Wamalwa.

According to Natembeya, Wamalwa refused to grant him the opportunity to expand DAP-K from a regional outfit into a broader national movement.

” I requested Hon. Eugene Wamalwa to grant me the opportunity to expand DAP-K into a broader national movement. Unfortunately, he declined. Consequently, I have no other option but to quit. ” Natembeya stated.

This decision comes days after the governor hosted Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna and other Linda Mwananchi leaders at his Trans-Nzoia home in Kitale.

During the meeting, the leaders agreed to form a new political journey ahead of the 2027 elections that they will use to persuade Kenyans tirelessly to vote for them.

Furthermore, Natembeya said he will vie for a gubernatorial seat in Trans-Nzoia next as he continues to unite western region people to join a new political camp to support Edwin Sifuna for the presidency seat in 2027.

Moreover, during the July 5th gathering, leaders like Vihiga senator Godfrey Osotsi, Bumula member of Parliament Jack Wamboka, Kabuchai member of Parliament Majimbo Kalasinga, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Governor George Natembeya, among other leaders, agreed in unison to make a rally on 25th July 2026 in Trans-Nzoia and later in Bungoma on 26th July, where they are expected to announce their new political wave towards 2027.

” We have decided to back Governor Natembeya to be our western king. Musalia and Wetang’ula are now under him. ” Jack Wamboka, Bumula MP said.
This happens coincidentally as the Broad-based regime maintains their western region empowerment weekly programs with the two-term chants.
