Handidi Primary School receives Sh26 million in NG-CDF funds for storied classroom construction.
Handidi Primary School, located in Isukha North Ward, Shinyalu Constituency, Kakamega County, has received a boost after securing Sh26 million from the NG-CDF kitty for the construction of storied classrooms.
The funds were handed over during an event led by Shinyalu MP and Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka, who was the chief guest.
Ikana stated that the project is part of a comprehensive plan to elevate educational standards and provide students with a better, safer learning environment in the entire constituency.
“We do not want our children studying in dilapidated classrooms. We will modernize all schools in Shinyalu by constructing storied buildings so that every child can enjoy the dignity of a quality learning environment,” Ikana said.
In his address on Monday, 14th September 2026, Ikana also called on security agencies to take stern action against politicians engaging in inflammatory rhetoric and violence, warning that such behavior risks setting the country back.
“We want peace so that even our children in schools can study undistracted,Politicians who engage in insults and hate speech should be arrested immediately”. Ikana stated.

The event was attended by various leaders, including Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka, who also serves as the coordinator for the two-term faction in the Western region.
Lusaka used the platform to dismiss online rumors claiming that he was planning to defect from the two-term faction. He stated that he remains firmly within the government and urged residents of the Western region to be discerning when casting their votes next year.
“Do not listen to online gossip. I am firmly in the government, and I will remain ,a captain cannot defect from his winning team to a losing team.
However, my people of the Western region, choose your leaders wisely—based on substance, not noise,” Lusaka reiterated.
Additionally, Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula used the occasion to persuade Western residents to support President William Ruto in the 2027 general election. Savula also warned the youth against allowing themselves to be used by politicians as agents of violence when the election season approaches.

“Young people, do not agree to be used as goons we want a peaceful election and we know that Ruto will get an early win in 2027 with massive votes since we, his supporters, don’t want any election petition. The opposition has nothing and they cannot even compete with Ruto; let’s bind the late Raila’s votes in one basket for Ruto.”Savula emphasized.
The event was also attended by Kiminini MP Kakai Bisau and Butali-Chegula MCA Kevin Mahelo who is also aiming for a senatorial seat in Kakamega County both of them drummed the two term faction to residents in Supporting President William Ruto’s re-election and the area Mp Ikana , other attenders were the Handidi Primary School Board Members, teachers , Adminstrations pupils and the parents.
