
A contentious debate has emerged regarding the host of this year's Kakamega County Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association games with two prominent institutions, Kakamega High School and Musingu School vying for the position. The games are scheduled to commence on June 17, and conclude on June 21, 2026.
According to a report released on Monday, Mrs. Carolyne Lusichi, head of the secondary school games board in Kakamega Central, assured Kakamega High School that it would host the county games.
However, other stakeholders have expressed a preference for the Mumias Sports Complex as the venue.This dispute follows a controversial outcome in last year's games which led to both Musingu and Kakamega High School appealing to the KSSSA tribunal court for a review of the match proceedings.
Musingu School in particular, advocates for the Mumias Sports Complex, believing it to be the most suitable stadium for the county level competitions. The final decision on the host venue for the KSSSA games remains pending waiting for the final verdict .
